Lab Architecture
The Lab architecture seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technologies to create a comprehensive environment for 5G, which includes a 5G core Network equipped with a gNodeb and a UE that allow the user to test the different end-to-end use cases in 5G.
Why this Lab ?
This Lab introduces you to a step-by-step beginner-friendly exploration of the 5G and its architecture while gaining knowledge on the basic concepts (packet analysis, packet generation, DNS...) and tools (Wireshark, Scapy...) needed through the journey. 5G beginner Lab offers a hands-on yet very simple-to-follow first introduction to all of NGAP, SCTP, E2E monitoring, User plan, and the different tunnels used, and more... making it the core and base for the fellow 5G Labs on LabLabee catalog.
Lab Objectives
- Develop the ability to assess 4G and 5G networks from an end-to-end (E2E) engineering perspective, optimizing architecture, latency, and throughput.
- Gain knowledge in 5G NR advancements to ensure seamless radio and core integration
- Master the full stack of 5G protocols—NGAP, GTP, SCTP, HTTP/2—and understand their interactions across the RAN, transport, and core network for efficient troubleshooting and optimization.
- Acquire hands-on experience with E2E traffic analysis using Wireshark, focusing on signaling flows, DNS resolution, PDU session establishment, and user-plane data inspection for network validation.
